Synopsis
Paul suffers from depression and social anxiety. He leads a solitary life at home bound by routine. As a big fan of Alice in Wonderland, he is always thinking of new ways to brighten up and add artistry to his world. One solution he found is to seek safety and security by doing housework for dominant women. Breaking out of his angst-ridden routine, he becomes the deeply submissive Cleaning Simp Paul, a character who finds success on Instagram. Thanks to an empathetic perspective and a precise sense of framing, Denis Côté shows us how unpredictable and idiosyncratic the quest for happiness can be.
